Roger Malina is a renowned space scientist and astronomer with expertise in extreme and ultraviolet astronomy, space instrumentation, and optics. He has held various leadership positions, including director of the Observatoire Astronomique de Marseille Provence (OAMP) and NASA Principal Investigator for the Extreme Ultraviolet Satellite project at the University of California Berkeley.

He is the president of the Association Leonardo in France and has been the editor-in-chief of Leonardo Journal at MIT Press since 1982. In addition to his scientific and editorial work, Malina has a dual appointment as a professor of arts and technology and a professor of physics at the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas).
